New Metro Push: Ghaziabad Proposes 3 Major Lines to Boost Connectivity

GHAZIABAD/NOIDA: In a major push to improve regional transit and connectivity toward the capital, Ghaziabad authorities have proposed three new metro extensions. The plan seeks to link key industrial and commercial hubs, including a direct route connecting Vaishali to Gokulpuri via the Hindon Civil Terminal.

Key Highlights:

  • Vaishali to Gokulpuri Line: This newly planned corridor will link the region directly with Delhi through the Hindon Civil Terminal, significantly easing transit times for air travelers and daily commuters.
  • Two Additional Corridors Planned: Proposals for two other critical routes are on the table to decongest busy roadways and bridge infrastructural gaps between Ghaziabad and Noida/Delhi.
  • Next Steps: The detailed project reports (DPR) are being finalized to be sent to the state government and the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) for final feasibility review and approval.
